SUMMARY:Haute Route Information Evening
DESCRIPTION:The Haute Route\, (or The High Route) is the name given to a route (with several variations) undertaken by bike between Geneva and Nice\, and is the highest\, toughest\, and one of the most famous cyclosportive tours on earth. In it's 2nd year\, the Haute Route runs from the 19th to 25th August 2012\, covers 780 km and 21\,000 meters of ascent and featuring seven world-famous cities and mountain resorts: Geneva\, Megève\, Courchevel\, Alpe d'Huez\, Risoul\, Auron and Nice. The route features 19 mythical Alpine cols that will challenge cyclists over the 7 timed stages\, including Madeleine\, Glandon\, Izoard\, Cime de la Bonette and the famous climb to Alpe d'Huez for an epic individual time trial. The Haute Route will continue to highlight the cols and ascents that have created the legend of cycling - and create goose bumps for those watching! RIDE Cycling Review Magazine and twowheeltours are offering ten riders and their non riding partners the chance to be part of the 2012 Haute Route. This land based tour is as good as it gets - it includes a professional team of a translator\, highly qualified mechanic\, tour guides\, drivers and the tour manager. Premium accommodation includes two nights at the famous le Negresco in Nice\, plus gourmet food\, daily activities for the non riders and tours of Geneva and Nice. Find out more about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at a catered information night at the MC Cyclery + Giant Sydney CBD store on Monday\, 13th February. There will be an opportunity to ask questions\, see photos\, talk to previous participants\, and get a real sense of the challenge and the adventure that is the Haute Route. Spots on the tour are limited and highly sought-after\, so come along\, munch on some pizza and discover the tour first-hand. More information is available here. SUMMARY:MC 'Mostly Chilled' Ride
DESCRIPTION:We'll be 'mostly chilled' as we 'mitigate climbs' and 'massively contribute' to our 'monster calves'. Yes\, it's the MC 'Mostly Chilled' Saturday ride\, a relaxed weekly cruise around Sydney that is perfect for everyone who likes to ride a bike\, but doesn't feel the need to break the sound barrier. The route changes regularly - with a focus on hitting the beach (especially over summer) and doting on Sydney's breathtaking scenery (approximately 35km total). The only thing that doesn't change is we always leave from and return to Centennial Park. This is a co-ed\, "no-drop" ride and is open to all riders and abilities. Bring your bike\, helmet\, supplies to fix a flat\, and plenty of water. Meet at Centennial Park (Robertson Road gates - also known as the Horse/Entertainment Quarter gates) from 8am for an 8:15am sharp rollout - then coffee and treats by the Duckpond by 9:30am. Note: Called off if raining. Must be over 18 years old to join the ride. Any questions\, please contact Nick - nick.bonich@mccyclery.com.au

SUMMARY:Maroubra Sunday Bunch Ride
DESCRIPTION:The Maroubra Sunday Bunch Ride is a weekly ride for the more advanced/serious cyclist who doesn't take it all too 'seriously'. The ride typically consists of a couple of laps of the La Perouse circuit (including laps of Centennial Park - although the route does occasionally vary) and takes in a mix of climbs and rolling flats. This is NOT a "no-drop" ride; riders should come expecting a challenging road ride and bring the proper equipment (we cover 50-60kms at an average pace of around 28-30km/h). Bring your road/race bike\, helmet\, supplies to fix a flat\, nutrition and plenty of water. Meet at the MC Cyclery Maroubra store for a 7am rollout - then coffee and renowned brekkie rolls cafe by 9:15-9:30am at the Centennial Park duck pond. Note: Called off if raining. Must be over 18 years old to join the ride. If you have any questions\, please contact the Maroubra store - maroubra@mccyclery.com.au

SUMMARY:Zeal of Zebras' Road Warrior Ride
DESCRIPTION:The Zeal of Zebras and MC Cyclery proudly invite you to join them on the Zeal of Zebras' Road Warrior Ride on Thursday 27/10 @ 6am. As well as Zebras\, there will be some of the guys from Rockstar Racing (Australia's funkiest off road team)\, Dulwich Hill Bicycle club and a host of others - it promises to be a fantastic event! The route starts at the Opera House and heads south along the busy Southern Cross Drive linking up with The Grand Pararde and on towards Kurnell. It then returns to the Town Hall. It is an estimated 77 km but could change subject to our ride progress. Our aim is to return to the city by about 8.30am so we'll probably turn around at 7.00am. This means starting at 6.00am sharp. If you miss the start then just ride along Macquarie street\, up Oxford Street and down Flinders then turn on to South Dowling street and catch us. This is a coed\, "no-drop" ride for intermediate road riders/warriors - with an average pace of between 27-30km/h. Bring your bike\, helmet\, nutritional needs to fuel up\, supplies to fix a flat\, and plenty of water. The MC Cyclery van will be sweeping behind the ride - and will be offering basic mechanical support. Meet at the Sydney Opera House for a 6am sharp rollout - then coffee and treats near Town Hall at approximately 8:30am. Note: Will proceed rain\, hail or (most likely) shine. Dress code: Black & White cycling gear. Here's what the Zeal had to say: "Wearing the Zeal of Zebras outfit is an honour and as some of you won't have had that bestowed on you so you'll need to wear black and white apparel. This of course doesn't apply if you are a professional rider or a representative of Australia or another country. If that's you then wear your gear loud and proud".
